Pantone Unveils Color of the Year

The design industry's self-identified "color authority" recently unveiled 2010's esteemed color of the year: turquoise. It's a color that "transports us to an exciting, tropical paradise while offering a sense of protection and healing in stressful times," according to Pantone.

Promise of an escape from the snowy tundra in favor of a "tropical paradise" is enough to convince me to opt for ocean hues - even if they're not Pantone's official 2010 color of 15-5519 turquoise.

Milly, Paisley-Embroidered Silk Blouse, $325

  9. Turquoise? About 0.001% of people look good in turquoise. I am not one of them.

  12. Love Pantone and it'd array of colors. Despite the specific color #, it can also be varied by tones and saturations. I LOVE the color and agree it might be helpful in this year 2010 - it should be calming and soothing, and a bit of Tiffany blue never hurt anyone!

  13. The Joan & David pump is very pretty. Turquoise is such a great color. Thanks to my pack rat nature, I'll be able to go back through my "archives" from 3 or 4 yrs ago (turquoise was a color of the moment then too) and pilfer some things from there.

  14. Love this color, reminds me of the simplicity of a turquoise necklace making a statement as the one on Eva Mendes at last years Golden Globes. Thank you for the lovely share.
