{ item of the week } Turkish Bath Towel

Instead of a bulky beach towel, try a peshtemal in a chic, earthy hue. The traditional Turkish bath towel is lightweight and fast-drying, making it the perfect poolside companion - without taking up much space in your tote bag. For more colors, visit Bath Style.

Road Trippin'

As if Fort Lauderdale wasn't enough of a vacation, we're setting off again. This time we're northbound to central Wisconsin for a few days at D's parents' cabin. Time away with my sweetheart? Ice cream cocktails at supper clubs? Plenty of s'mores? Yes. Yes. Yes!

Tuesday Treats Under $25

I don't have a bikini stomach now, but I just might at the end of the summer with all of the exercise I'm anticipating. The guy I've been dating twisted my arm into biking with him this year. After a $300 investment to spruce up his mom's old bike at Trek and purchase an aqua-colored helmet, I've hit the road with him twice: a six-mile ride and then a 14-mile ride. And we're going again tonight.
  1. Tribal Print Bikini Top, Old Navy, $19.50
  2. Tribal Print Bikini Bottom, Old Navy, $19.50
  3. Seed Bead Fringe Necklace, Forever21, $8.88
  4. Braided Rope Sandals, Old Navy, $22.94

{ summer lovin' } Sandals

Each year I buy a new pair of sandals and wear them until they're hanging by a thread on Labor Day. For summer 2011, I'm crushing on this pair by Sam Edelman. The only decision left: on-trend color blocking or go-with-everything nude?

Fort Lauderdale Recap, Part Three

Topping my itinerary was an airboat tour on the Everglades - mostly because I was intent on coming face-to-face with an alligator. We were the last visitors of the day at Everglades Holiday Park and unexpectedly enjoyed a private tour on the wetlands. The best part? We were attacked by an alligator. Seriously. One of the gators we spotted in the distance submerged himself to swim closer, coming up to the surface periodically before ramming his body against the boat. As it turns out, alligators are normally passive, but it was mating season and there must have been a desirable female nearby.
