For years, I touted silver's superiority to gold.
"It goes with everything."
"It's much more classic."
"Gold is just so tacky."
And then I purchased a piece of gold costume jewelry. Then another. The truth is, gold exudes an exoticism and a warmth that silver just can't match.

I love *both* metals. And, as always, you have chosen some particularly beautiful pieces.
ReplyDeleteLove the ring!
ReplyDeleteHello gold pendant - love it!
ReplyDeleteI used to be the same with gold too! Now I love it! Very cute pieces!
ReplyDeleteOh, I know! A few years ago I wouldn't be caught dead wearing gold, but it sure made one heck of a come back!

Im so not a fan of gold jewelry *maybe because I am extremely pale but I love that ring! great stuff you picked out

I 100% agree!! And I did the same thing; "I just don't look good in gold" etc. Now I appreciate both =)
ReplyDeleteI prefer silver, but I do like gold. Those items are all very beautiful. Great finds.
ReplyDeleteI use to think that way about goldm but now I am a big fan! I think it brings the *GLAM* to any outfit!
ReplyDeleteI adore those pieces and the one for me is the Alexis Bittar, Klimt Citrine Drop Earrings...so beautiful...I bet they would look amazing!
ReplyDeleteKisses darling and have a fun Thursday:)
I hated gold for YEARS but have started to embrace it slowly.
ReplyDeletefunny - i had the same feeling about gold and i just started warming up to it this year.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more! I think silver is a thing of our generation, but as I'm getting older and as I started wearing vintage jewelry, I just can't get enough of large gold necklaces dangling around my neck. :) Je l'adore.

I tend to go for silver because it looks better on my skin, but I do like the gold earrings!
ReplyDeletethose are lovely selection dear
ReplyDeletelove the gold earrings!
xoxo
i'm glad you've turned to the "gold" side, haha :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you... gold is elegant, but I don't like those super flashy golds. I prefer the muted gold. I love those gold accessories you chose. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with this and it's funny because in jr. high and high school I wouldn't touch gold with a ten foot pole.
ReplyDeleteI love that tassel bracelet! I wasn't a big fan of gold until lately, still working on my collection.
ReplyDeleteWow I love it all!! :D

had the same thing, hated gold but now every now and then I like some items. you just have to do it gently and also have the right face is my opinion, some people are just tacky already, gold only makes it worse!
ReplyDeleteI love the bracelet! I had no idea that ABS made jewelry.
ReplyDeleteI love wearing gold jewelry in the summer. You're so right about how it exudes a warmth not found in silver.
ReplyDeleteI so agree, I was a silver girl until a few years ago... gold just adds such a fun sense of glamor to everything!
ReplyDeleteI'm so with you. I thought gold was tacky too! But once I realized how much silver jewelry I had, I discovered gold could match with a lot of outfits too.

I couldn't agree more. I made the switch to gold recently as well. Now silver just seems tacky to me. Funny how our opinions change over time.
ReplyDeleteI was exactly the same way - I wouldn't touch gold for years, and now I actually prefer it to silver! Not that I don't wear them both, and often together.
ReplyDeleteI'm really drawn to the rawness of the ring, quite lovely.
Chic on the Cheap
You find the best finger candy!
ReplyDeleteI felt the same until I bought golden swarvoski earrings. love them and they look so good to warm colours such as brown!
ReplyDeleteThose citrine earrings are gorgeous! haha I used to be exactly the same with gold as well, but now I love it for its warmth and classic luxury. You do have to be a bit more careful though not to look gauche than with silver!
