Trend Spotting: Socks + High Heels

photo via J.Crew

There was a time when I always wore anklets with my beloved party shoes. The socks had a lace ruffled trim. The shoes were patent leather Mary Janes. And I was six years old. Now, twenty years later, I'm just as excited about perky ankle-length socks with high heels.

Eager to try the trend? Pick up a few pairs of nylon anklets at WeLoveColors.com. There are a staggering 51 colors to choose from - and an incredibly affordable price tag of only $3.50 per pair. With such a low investment, I can afford to risk my dignity for a trend. I'd like to try the light tan, aqua, charcoal, rubine and spruce green.

  1. I'm not a big fan of heels+socks, but I can see how it looks good with some outfits!

  4. I think this look is adorable. I'm a slightly bigger fan of knee socks and heels. I get some funny looks, but I think it's adorable. I geeked when they did the same trick in the Sex and the City movie.

  9. I've been doing this look a lot with short (no higher than the ankle) socks and sandals this fall. Keeps my feet warm. :)

*gasp* That Dior jacket is to die for. I haven't been paying too much attention to Galliano for the last few seasons, as I felt he'd gotten a little stale. Looking at that runway photo, I'd say he's back!

  10. I wear them everywhere. Anklets are great fun. Just wear them! Keep to the thin fold-down ones like Gold Toe anklets or Hue Turn Cuffs and enjoy the compliments. Very cool look and comfy on your feet.
