If you've ever dreamed of being part of Robin Hood's band of merry gentlewomen, I have the dress for you: the Unbridled Passion Dress, a forest green frock for under $70, offered by Modcloth. Although, it seems that the design may have been robbed from the richly created Pleated Silk Dress by Undercover to give the poor a wallet-friendly option. All that's missing is a bow and arrow - and a cute guy in tights. (Okay, fine, "equestrian" might be the most accurate description of the dress, but that makes it less whimsical, doesn't it?)
Would you save or splurge?

ReplyDeleteStop by and say Hello:)
Enter my Spoil Me Fashion Jewelry Giveaway!!♥
I generally try to keep price tags with commas out of my closet. I think I'd be too afraid to wear them.
ReplyDeleteSteal for me :)
Very close knock off. Since I can't afford the designer, it would be the knock off for me! xo
ReplyDeleteI'd save, haha...I looove the ModCloth version! And its brown, I love brown, hahha...don't have enough of it in my closet

Love both the dresses but the Undercover is my fav! But it is good to save though!
ReplyDeletethe splurge does have a little extra something....but...I'd say save and buy some shoes to go with it1
ReplyDeleteI actually sort of like the ModCloth version a bit more than the designer one so I would opt for that...also I'm cheap!

ReplyDeleteI say this with no doubt - SAVE! I actually even like the Mod Cloth dress better... Great find!
ReplyDeleteit's not 100% my style so I'd save. but, wow! holy copy cat!!
ReplyDeleteI would want to splurge - but the save is a great option and in the long run I am sure you would be happier to save - and it would help with the new year's resolutions!
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
B
Save. They're both so cute!
ReplyDeletei say save too! they're both so pretty! plus i really like brown!
ReplyDeleteSAVE! Like you thought I would say anything else! :) I like the color combination on the splurge more than the save - but not enough to spend that much more money, personally.
ReplyDeleteHey Jessica!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for featuring the Unbridled Passion Dress on your blog - you obviously have great style!
I just wanted to clear up the idea that ModCloth stole this design from Undercover.
ModCloth does not produce or design our own clothing. Susan Gregg Koger, our founder, and her buying team travel the globe looking for unique clothing and decor from independent designers at a wide range of price points.
We began by selling one of a kind vintage items (and still do offer one true vintage item daily!) and our mission remains to offer unique clothing for young women that differs from what she might find in the mall. However, it is impossible for our buyers to keep track of every item/design that is on the market. So from time to time they do fall in love with a style and it happens to be similar to one found from another designer. Please know that is never our intention to steal a style.
Again, we really appreciate you being an awesome fan and thanks so much!
XOXO

I love Modcloth! This dress is a dead ringer, I think it prefer it more than the other one!
ReplyDeleteI love Robin Hood and these dresses are perfect. I'd definitely save though.
ReplyDeletewow the modcloth one is so similar!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't thought about it, but this really does look like a Robin Hood- inspired dress!! I love the cheaper Modcloth version, but I have to say, it really is all in the details for the more expensive one...the strap details, the multiple-strand belt, the hem at the bottom.
ReplyDeleteGreat comparison.
ReplyDeletePlease stop by my blog as I have something for you in my Wednesday post.
xoxo, B
wow, nice detective work. The similarities are uncanny.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!!
I quite like the color of the save!
