Kate Spade does it again. My wish list never ceases to fill up with the brand's costume jewelry and my holiday list is no different. I need this gift bow ring.

Fashion Buzz

I need preface this by saying that I like Siriano, I really do. The guy was a hoot on Project Runway. His designs were a fresh breath of creativity. Heck, I'm even supportive of his makeup line at Victoria's Secret. But I just can't take this card seriously.
From the Starbucks' Web site:
“One of the things I love about fashion is that it can change the way you feel inside and out. Put on a fabulous little something and you feel like a new lady! Giving back is the same – it changes what’s going on in your life because it changes what’s going in your heart. It’s true, people! This year, the Card design that I created with Starbucks is all about putting the spirit of fashion and giving into your life for the Holidays. And maybe a Frappuccino Blended beverage, too. I can’t get enough of those!!” - Christian Siriano
I know this is written by someone in PR, but really? The Starbucks gift card (and soon-to-be loyalty program) is about the "spirit of fashion and giving?" Sure. And if they really wanted to feed into my fashion sensibilities, Starbucks should have persuaded Siriano to do something a little more creative than gray swirls and his name scrawled across the card.
What are your thoughts on this designer collaboration?
Little Luxuries: Jewel-Tone Evening Bags
As far as I'm concerned, the day after Halloween is unofficially the beginning of the holiday season. Yuletide ads already grace the pages of magazines. Rows and rows of wrapping paper, ribbons and wreaths adorn the aisles of big box stores. And fellow bloggers are already talking about the upcoming festivities.
I haven't yet begun to search for the perfect party dress(es) for the season, but that's not stopping me from look for a rich, jewel-tone evening bag.

Trend Spotting: Socks + High Heels
There was a time when I always wore anklets with my beloved party shoes. The socks had a lace ruffled trim. The shoes were patent leather Mary Janes. And I was six years old. Now, twenty years later, I'm just as excited about perky ankle-length socks with high heels.
Eager to try the trend? Pick up a few pairs of nylon anklets at WeLoveColors.com. There are a staggering 51 colors to choose from - and an incredibly affordable price tag of only $3.50 per pair. With such a low investment, I can afford to risk my dignity for a trend. I'd like to try the light tan, aqua, charcoal, rubine and spruce green.

Happy Halloween!
I've had variety of Halloween costumes over the years, including a black cat, a fairy, Sailor Jupiter from the cartoon Sailor Moon and the Morton Salt Girl. But in my earliest Halloween memory, I have a simple black cape tied around my shoulders and a jaunty witch's hat. I remember proudly wearing that costume and stomping through crunchy leaves on the way to each neighbor's house to tentatively ask "Trick-or-Treat?" before choosing a sweet or two.
So, I decided to resurrect the classic Halloween costume and dress as a witch this year. It was easy enough to pull black pieces from my closet and add the appropriate hat. Though, it wasn't complete without a cape. With one cup of coffee, a $70 trip to the fabric store, and a marathon five-hour sewing session, I was set for last weekend's Halloween party.
What are you dressing as this year?

Happy Weekend!
- Lemon lime macarons for your baking - and viewing - pleasure.
- Beautiful candy apple graphics. If I were throwing a Halloween dinner party, I'd print these off on heavy card stock, cut them out, and use them for place cards.
- Borrow the style ideas from this sequined photo shoot.
- Spooky Halloween cocktails.
- Not sure how to wear Lauren Moffatt's fall line? Here's your guide.
- Create your own ruffled neck piece.

Pretty Pumpkins
Every year, I'm unapologetically giddy about carving pumpkins. It's been my favorite part of the holiday for years - second only to our traditional Halloween pumpkin pie. My mom would make one each year, hoping that my brother and I would be too full after to dessert to tear into our Trick-or-Treat stash. It backfired, of course.
I don't dare mess with tradition when it comes to pumpkin pie - but pumpkin carving is another matter. The triangle-eyed Jack o' Lantern might take a backseat to one of these contemporary designs.

Will you carve a pumpkin this weekend? What are your favorite Halloween traditions?
