Happy Monday!

It's hard to get back in the swing of things after a fun weekend. We went to the Farmers' Market, enjoyed craft cocktails, spent an evening grilling with friends, went to the carnival and purchased cotton candy. See more snapshots at Bedknobs & Baubles.

I spent the weekend in Milwaukee celebrating the marriage of one of Dave's friends. I'm still exhausted from too much dancing and too many drinks! At least my feet are taking it easy in a pair of Ann Taylor neon-capped flats that I picked up for only $35.

This weekend, my time will probably be split equally between Menards and Home Depot. My boyfriend and I are ready to begin remodeling his house. To say his place is "in need of a woman's touch" is putting it lightly. But with some elbow grease (and new fixtures, cabinetry, flooring, ...), it should be a lovely little home. I'll keep you posted on the process - complete with photos.

I apologize for the lack of posts lately - it's been a hectic week! And this weekend doesn't look much different. We've booked an overnight stay in Wisconsin Dells for tonight and tomorrow we have a Halloween party to attend. What are your weekend plans?

Halloween Planning

I'm not normally this excited about Halloween each year, but my boss has morphed her office into a haunted wasteland for the holiday - complete with music from Hollywood's creepiest films and sounds of people in distress. (Few things are as unsettling as coming to work and hearing sounds of someone struggling for a gasp of air.)

I'm not as motivated as she is, but I am planning to decorate a little more this weekend. The skull tray from Pottery Barn might follow me home and I'm on the lookout for foam pumpkins to spray paint silver.

It may be September, but summer certainly hasn't left Wisconsin with today's high of 80 degrees. I plan to enjoy the warm weather reading Daisy Miller by Henry James on my balcony and visiting antique shops. We'll settle in front of the TV tomorrow for the NFL season kickoff.
