Save or Splurge?

As much as I love this Mawi ring, it's out of my price range at $4o5. Fortunately, you can get the same look with this statement ring from Topshop for just $18.

P.S.A.

I've been on the lookout for a classic pair of black pumps to replace a few scuffed-beyond-repair versions. I first tried Kate Spade's "Licorice" pump, but the toe box in the pointy shoe was too narrow for my feet, so I opted for a beloved style: the Kate Spade Karolina pumps.

I found the above pair on the Neiman Marcus site for only $134. Other retailers still have the black patent version listed at $298 - including other pages on Neiman's own site. I'm not sure if it's a mistake - or how long the price will be effective - but now's the time to buy them if you're interested.

My pair was just delivered. Visit me on
Instagram for a peek at 'em!

Tuesday Treat Under $25

The event will be held Monday, March 5th and Tuesday, March 6th. If you're in the Pennsylvania-area, it's worth checking out - 40 new spring styles will debut. If you mention that you saw this post on Style Obsession, you'll receive 10% off your purchase! (Can't make it? Shop online! This polka dot blouse is adorable.)

For Women | For Men

A few evenings each week, you'll find us casually browsing the Internet, bookmarking wish list items and asking each other for input. (Truth be told, Dave is integral to creating gift guides for men.) So, we decided to put that energy to good use (instead of just draining our bank accounts) with a regular series: For Women | For Men, featuring a covetable piece for her (you!) and him. This week, we picked a favorite spring fabric: seersucker.

For Women: Seersucker Dress, Thread Social, $365 $164.25
For Men: Seersucker Swim Trunks, J.Crew, $54.50

Tuesday Treat Under $25

When I spotted this Forever21 ring ($5.80), it reminded me so much of a beloved vintage ring that I just had to feature it for this week's Tuesday Treat Under $25.

Orange Crush

Since Pantone's color of the year is tangerine, it's not surprising that orange is popping up everywhere. My favorite way to incorporate the trend is with a small, citrus-colored handbag. (The Kate Spade version is dangerously close to being my annual "Income Tax Return Splurge.")
  1. Small Envelope Clutch, American Apparel, $28
  2. Clover Embossed Wallet, Comme de Garçons, $84
  3. New Bond Street Ettie, Kate Spade, $248
  4. Wallet, Co-Lab by Christopher Kon, $130
  5. Mini 5-Zip Clutch, Rebecca Minkoff, $195

{ inspired by }

I'm infatuated with Florence Broadhurst prints after being introduced to the Japanense floral design in Kate Spade's spring collection. It also seems that J.Crew may have found inspiration in Broadhurt's designs. The product description for the "fanfare" design states that inspiration was found from a "big, bold seaside graphic on a salvaged-from-the-'60s shirtdress." I suspect the dress was cut from one of Broadhurst's fabrics.

{ pitter pattern }

This spring, I need a pair of ultra-practical black pumps to replace hordes of poor quality, scuffed-beyond-repair versions. But what I need doesn't always match up with what I want. I'm yearning for impractical fabric versions in loud graphic prints, like the striped peep-toe pumps from J.Crew or the floral pair at Kate Spade.

{ friday finds under $50 }

Valentine's Day is the perfect excuse to wear the most feminine items in your closet. Instead of expected pink and red hues, I'm leaning toward a mint lace shell (ASOS, $44.76) with ultra romantic earrings (Bauble Bar, $36).
